This Little Life of Mine

By Kayleigh Wiebe

Where to begin. My life has been a wild ride that has lead us to today. Phillip and I have been dreaming of this reality for what seems like forever. We are finally making it happen, and I’m inviting you to join us in the adventure.

I’ll be sharing what’s happening on our homestead, recipes, what events are upcoming, and everyday life in between. This is the start of our forever, I hope you enjoy the ride as much as we will.

For today, let’s start with who I am. By day I am a project manager. By every other moment of life, I am a creative soul that loves nature and everything it has to offer. Some might even call me a bit of a hippie. My love for cooking and baking goes back to when I was just a few years old. My favorite memory is when I was quite young, I convinced my cousin I knew how to make banana muffins. Being young, I was confident, yet I didn’t know what a leavening agent was, so my muffins turned out a bit stout. To this day though, my mother says they were some of the best muffins she ever had. Whether she means it, or is saying it because she’s my mom, I’m not sure I’ll ever know. That passion has continued through my life, and what prompted my sourdough journey.

Let’s dive into what we are going to offer. Sourdough is becoming increasingly popular, and for good reason. There are more benefits than not, and it’s taste darn great! We previously had a successful sourdough micro-bakery before moving to Colorado, and are excited to start that here, in our forever home and to share our goods with our community. With my love of nature, we are also excited to offer things from our apothecary, a few examples will be salves, teas, and more. Additionally, we will be offering beeswax wraps, sewn and crocheted goods, like market bags, blankets, etc. In addition, we aim to become more involved with our community. If you’re interested in a charity event that we can donate to, feel free to utilize the contact us form!
